WL 374 Heat Conduction in Solids Show data sheet (pdf file) Print page
Technical Description

The fundamental laws of steady-state thermal conduction in solid bodies can be investigated with this experimental unit. The specimens are arranged between an electrical heater and a water-cooled plate. A Dewar vessel prevents the exchange of heat with the surrounding environment. The specimens are equipped with several temperature measuring points. The heat transfer rate is determined via the current and voltage of the heater.

Learning Objectives / Experiments
- Determination of the thermal conductivity of various
- Temperature curves as a function of length
- Heat transfer through different specimens
  connected in series
* Compact design1
* Measurement of up to 4 temperatures1
* Usage of several measurement specimens in series1
* Variable heating capacity
