HM 162.32 contains the base for a spillway. This is fitted to the base of the channel in conjunction with the base plate HM 162.54 and HM 162.37 (4 different dissipation structures). The base has a ramp section with a cut-out at the end of the ramp. There a dissipation structure is used. In this way different experimental set-ups can be assembled. Tubular seals made of plastic inserted in slots on the side of the weir body complete the experimental set-up. In practice, dissipation structures are used to remove energy from the flow after a weir.
